Error code 8000FFFF while trying to patch W2008 SP1 to SP2
I am trying to update my Windows 2008 box from SP1 to SP2. Everytime i hit an error 8000FFFF. I have tried to rename the SoftwareDistribution folder and do the fresh update but still error. Have a look to this article named "WindowsUpdate 0x8000FFF fix". Remark: Backup your system state before proceeding because there is suggested registry modifications. If this does not help, please proceed like the following: Run chkdsk /r /f Run sfc /scannow Install the System Update Readness tool for Windows Server 2008 If this does not solve the problem, please reset Windows Updates components.
