Error Event ID 31551 and Warning Event ID 11411 on SCOM 2012 R2 Management Server

Hi all,

I'm currently experiencing an issue on one of my SCOM management servers where event 31551 and 11411 are occuring every 10 minutes.

Event 31551:

Failed to store data in the Data Warehouse. The operation will be retried.
Exception 'InvalidOperationException': The given value of type String from the data source cannot be converted to type nvarchar of the specified target column.

One or more workflows were affected by this.

Workflow name: Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.CollectAlertData
Instance name: d50ae062-fc92-45e4-8ba3-307c719892d2
Instance ID: {E52716F9-A7F5-2866-6CFE-ED6B4833FC60}
Management group: SCOM1

Event 11411:

Alert subscription data source module encountered alert subscriptions that were waiting for a long time to receive an acknowledgement.
Alert subscription ruleid, Alert subscription query low watermark, Alert subscription query high watermark:
5fcdbf15-4f5b-29db-ffdc-f2088a0f33b7,05/25/2014 20:19:59, 05/31/2014 02:09:12

I have searched the internet on how to troubleshoot the above events but there is like no information about the events that I'm receiving.

There were nog changes made for our SCOM environment on 05/25/2014.

Did someone experienced the same issues ? How can I troubleshoot it ?

What is the impact of these errors ?

Kind Regards

Hi,

I would like to suggest you to apply System Center 2012 R2 Operations Manager Update Rollup 1 first:

http://blogs.technet.com/b/systemcenter/archive/2014/01/28/update-rollup-1-for-system-center-2012-r2-is-now-available.aspx

Here is a similar thread, hope it helps:

Event 31551 Health Service Modules

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/5605724e-e8ae-4064-9732-b0ebc5c811b5/event-31551-health-service-modules?forum=operationsmanagergeneral

In addition, have you put your management servers into maintenance mode? If so, please recover them form MM, and then check the operation manger event logs.

Hello Yan Li,

Thank you for your reply. I already applied Update Rollup 2 before the issue occured.

The alerts that I described above are gone since this morning. I suppose this is because the Database grooming occured after 7 days.

Kind Regards,
