I have a month-YTD report that provides me the total for:

1. Physician

2. Facility Provider

The report has about 10,000 physicians and facilities

I wrote my drill down details report with the same parameters

I set up the report and enabled the action to go to the report

My issue is that when I click on the field that is linked to the drill down details report it gives me all rows of data in the report- 10,000 physicians

I am looking to just click on Physician XXX and retrieve a list of facilites that he is assigned to and not everyone in the database

Sounds like it might be related to your report layout. Are Physician and Facility Provider columns? Also, I assume you are grouping by Physician?

Layout:

Row Group= Physician

Row Group= Facility Provider

Column Group= Year

Colum Group= Month

Did you group by Physician and Facility Provider in your query?

I doubled check and I did gropup by Physician and Facilty Provider

On the tab Visibility of the Group Properties of Facilty Provider, did you check the checkbox "Display can be toggled by this report item:"? And then you have to select Physician from the dropdown list.

According to your description, you add a drillthrough report in the main report. When clicking the grouped fields, you want to display the detail information of the fields within drill through report.

In Reporting Services, we can add a drillthrough action for an grouped fields or other fields, when clicking the link on the main report, the corresponding fields are passed to the drillthrough report. In your scenario, please check if you have specified the grouped fields for a parameter to run the drillthrough report. As we tested in our environment, we add a drillthrough action for the grouped field and specify grouped field values for one parameter to run the drillthrough report, only corresponding data returns, not all data. Please refer to steps below:

1. Add drillthrough action for grouped fields.

2. Preview the report, click on Scott, Scott is passed to the drillthrough report.
