Downtime during deployment of production site

Hi there,

We are experiencing a short downtime (~1 minute with YSOD) during the deployment of our Cloud Service.

Before and during deployment we refresh the site from a browser (session cookie enabled).

At some point during deployment we start to receive a YSOD about the web.config having changed while reading it, but when looking at the logs this is before OnStart in our custom EntryPoint (separate assembly from the website assembly).

We have already tried the Arr-Disable-Session-Affinity header without success.

I thought that an incremental update would automatically remove a cloud service instance from the loadbalancer and then deploy the site, but it seems to be broken.

Any help will be appreciated

Sincerely Esben

Additional info:

The cloud service consists of 2 instances Standard_D3.

Using EPiServer 8.x.

We are directly deploying to the production slot since we have a separate cloud service for staging.

This did not help.. There are no project warnings, the only assembly that was missing the Copy Local was the azure runtime (which is set to not copy local when adding the azure sdk/upgrading).

I have also tried upgrading to SDK 2.7.1 without any luck.

I'm not sure about the process activation thing described in the other thread, but it doesn't seem to be relevant.

Follow up:

We get the following warning during deployment, but it seems unavoidable as long as we use a separate assembly as our entrypoint.

     2>C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v12.0\Windows Azur
       e Tools\2.7\Microsoft.WindowsAzure.targets(3003,5): warning : CloudServi
ces67 : The entrypoint for role Bolia.Website is already defined in the
service definition file. Ignoring entrypoint Bolia.Website.dll. [D:\tfs\
       Bolia\branches\outlet\src\Bolia.Website.Azure.QA\Bolia.Website.Azure.QA.
