Hello,on the server do not use the loopback ip address 127.0.0.1, change it to the real one. The client has a different default gateway as the server. Both shouldn't belong to the problem in my point of view but correct this so we can exclude this.Additional make sure that NetBios over TCP/IP is enabled on the NIC, advanced settings, WINS tab.Can you ping the server with ip address, computername and FQDN? You wrote ping is possible to domain, do you mean the domain name?Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

hi there, meinolf is correct, point your DNS server to appropriate ip rather than 127.0.0.1 and also you have configured secondary dns server as Gateway ip address which i dont think is valid , provided you have configured DG as DNS server.3rd point is that make sure you correct your client DG to server DG as said by meinolf.sainath windows driver development.

Dear Meinolf,Thanks for the quick reply.IPs corrected as per ur advice.Yes, NetBios over TCP/IP is already enabled state. Also Pinging is succeededonly with ip address and Computer name only. But it is failed while pinging with Domain Name. Thanks in Advance.Regards, Bala

Hello, did you make the suggested changes? Also remmove the x.xx.101 form the DNS server list. Thanks for seeing it, sainath windows driver development. After removing run ipconfig /flushdns on the server and ipconfig /registerdns, then restart the netlogon service and run again dcdiag /fix and netdiag /fix.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Did i need to remove 101 ip address from the DNS server list? Since it is the ip address of my Router.______________________________________________________Regards, Bala

Also please direct me to fill the ip-addresses in both the Server and client, if i'm having x.x.x.111 as Domain Server ip, x.x.x.123 as Client's ip and x.x.x.101 as Router's ip.Regards, Bala
June 16th, 2009 2:41pm

Hello, yes, it is the default gateway NOT the DNS server. Even the router has DNS functionality, never use it in the domain. If you need access for internet, what i assume you are using it for, configure the FOREWARDERS tab in the DNS server properties in the DNS management console with the ISPs DNS server ip address.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hi There Although You Got Nice Solution Above ... Plz Try This: Goto: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc (Any Work Station) Open lmhosts With NotePad Add The IP And Server Name (You Find An Example Inside The File) Restart & Try Again. Wish It Help Thankx
June 22nd, 2009 2:57pm

Hello,i disagree with your suggestion, editing the lmhosts file is no the solution, it will be a workaround if it helps. The problem has to be solved without editing.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
