Definite answer: Yes
Since today Windows Server 2008 is the newest version of Windows Server. It will replace Windows Server 2003 R2 in the next few monthsin terms of product marketing, available licenses andOEM installations.
Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2are notobsolete products, though!
Microsoft will continue to provide updates to Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 up to July 13th, 2010.
After this data Microsoft will provide security update up to July 14th, 2015, which is known as the extended support period.
