Does KB2688338 contain KB2553549?
Please tell me Windows hotfix. I could not install KB2553549 to WindowsServer2003R2 SP1. So I uninstalled KB2688338, and I has retried to add KB2553549 and I could. So I would like to know whether KB2688338 contains KB2553549.

I would tend to tell you no. Private KB like KB2553549 does not get fully tested, it's why it's in limited distribution. They both change the same file.. Only MS could answer you on that one. (In worst case, you could do a hex compare of the original's file, do a compare with the private KB, and do a hex compare with the lastest KB after. If you see same pattern it could help you see if the same code was wrote in... but it's only guessing)MCP | MCTS 70-236: Exchange Server 2007, Configuring Want to follow me ? | Blog: http://www.jabea.net | http://blogs.technet.com/b/wikininjas/

Dear. Yagmoth555. Thank you for your reply. I read the following documents again. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2553549/en-us ===== If you have applied Security Bulletin MS12-032 (KB 2688338(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2688338)) and you try to apply the hotfix that is described in this article, you will receive an error message that states that the computer does not need the hotfix. MS12-032 includes the KB 2553549 hotfix for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2. However, on Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, the hotfix is necessary, even if MS12-032 has been applied. ====== According to this document, KB2688338 includes KB2553549 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. But does not on Windows Vista and WindowsServer2008 Is this Hotfix very rare?

You are right, so it's simple, it's included for 2008R2 and Win7 and not for Vista and 2008. Thus for vista and 2008 you need to re-apply the hotfix. You got your answer right there !MCP | MCTS 70-236: Exchange Server 2007, Configuring Want to follow me ? | Blog: http://www.jabea.net | http://blogs.technet.com/b/wikininjas/
