Does ASR support Exchange 2013?

During the initial replication data is passed from a 500GB vhdx, VM on Hyper-V to ASR.

The changes replication is always greater than 100GB.  This makes the process stop and needs manual triggering. Is this amount of changes normal and is Exchange 2013 even supported for ASR?

Hi Megi,

Thanks for posting here.

Azure does not support Exchange server 2013 yet. I am not sure whether you can get your Exchange server from on-premise to Azure site recovery. Let me check with experts and get back to you at the earliest.

Thank you Girish for your prompt response.

I refered to this article: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/application-aware-availability-solutions-with-azure-site-recovery/ that states that Exchange is supported.

If it is not supported, then what is Microsoft's suggestion for Exchange BCDR?

Supposing it is supported, how do I handle the big data transfers of 100-200GB on every replication. This causes the following error:

More than 20% of replication cycles have been missed. Last successful replication was more thean 2 hours ago.

This situation is only bypassed by manually and periodically triggering the restart of replication. But this is of course not feasible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Megi,

If you truly want to replicate that amount of data, Azure Express Route is what you need.
