DistributedCom Error
When you see the following evntlog error: Event ID 10016, Source:’DistributedCOM. “The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {24FF4FDC-1D9F-4195-8C79-0DA39248FF48} to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.” Note:- The problem is happening from we had installed kaspersky Antivirus through kasper Administrator Tool Kit Regards Subash

Hi, In addition to the suggestion Dave Patrick provided, please also check the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type dcomcnfg, and then click OK. 2. In Component Services, double-click Component Services, and then double-click Computers. 3. Expand My Computer, expand DCOM Config, and then click netman in the DCOM Config node. 4. Right-click netman, and then click Properties. 5. In the netman Properties dialog box, click the Security tab. 6. Under Launch and Activation Permissions, click Edit. 7. In the Launch Permission dialog box, click Add. 8. In the Enter the object names to select box, type Network Service, and then click OK. 9. While Network Service is selected, click to select the Allow check boxes for the following items: l Remote Launch l Local Activation l Remote Activation 10. Click OK two times.
