Display enhanced security configuration dialog - IE 8 in Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard
Hi In IE 8 in Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, while browsing, I used to get warning sometimes: "internet explorer content from the website listed below is being blocked by the internet explorer enhanced security configuration" In this dialog, I removed the check for "continue to prompt when website content is blocked". and since then I do not get the above warning. How can I get this warning again? I found out that I should check the option "Display enhanced security configuration dialog" in Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced, but there is not such option. Thanks in advance

Hi FZB, >you could try to reset to default on the advanced tab and see if that brings it back That is exactly what I want to avoid. I do not want to loose all the changes I have made to IE.

From Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu, then the Options... In the Internet Options dialog, select the Advanced tab... Scroll down until you see the Security options. Enable the checkbox "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer". http://www.virmansec.com/blogs/skhairuddin

only other idea i could come up with atm is, you let process monitor run on a test server and see what registry key changes when you remove the check for "continue to prompt" (assuming this setting is saved in the registry which i am not 100% sure).

Hi Thiyagu14, Thank you for your reply. As long as I understand those reg keys merely turns on/off "Internet Explorer (IE) Enhanced Security Configuration", right? They are already turned on. I only want to get the warning displayed again, for debugging. I do not want IE to restrict webcontents silently, otherwise I never know if errors occur due to my code (especially in Javascript) or security configuration. I do not want to change registry, either, as I am not the owner of the server.

Hej Syed Khairuddin, Here is an example. http://forums.citrix.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/137-248255-1389122-27113/IE.jpg I came to remove the check for "continue to prompt when website content is blocked" and I do not get this warning any more, but I would like to see the warning, when website content is blocked for security reasons. Otherwise IE silently block website content.

Hi FZB, >you could try to reset to default on the advanced tab and see if that brings it back That is exactly what I want to avoid. I do not want to loose all the changes I have made to IE. Do you mean that you donot want to loose your personal settings. If you click Reset button. It will not delete your personal settings unless you select the option Delete Personal Settings. See this figure settings that will reset. Thanks

Hi MYousufAli Thank you for your reply. However I meant that I do not want to reset security settings and advanced settings. Your suggestion might resolve the problem, but this must be the last resort, as it says on the window: "You should only use this if your browser is in an unusable state". There must be other way...
