Disk or Network Error
Hi
I added a Win 2008 R2 Foundation server to our existing domain. Planning to use it as the DC. After a while, the users start getting error messages "Disk or Network Error" and some problems with Outlook. I shut down the Foundation server and all returns
to normal. Anybody has this issue? Help and advice much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
Richard
i started it up again today but there were no issues...

Hi,
To determine and verified what actually happen you can try executing the below commands.
1) chkdsk = To verified if hard disk is having problems.
2) netstat -s -r -5 check if there is any packet missing or unreachable.
3) pathping from client machine to exchange server.
4) ping -t at gateway to determine NIC card is ok.. no packet drops or intermittent connectivity.
5) start run > eventvwr > systems > try to locate perf or disk error. :)
Usually such error when it prompted. It is likely to be a network issue.
Hope it helps :) Good Day :)

Hi Richard,
Thanks for posting here.
Could you please discuss these error messages "Disk or Network Error" in detail ? error ID or description form even log is preferred.
Meanwhile, what about the network settings (IP address segment , default gateway, DNS server…etc.) you set for client computers ? have you modified any these
setting since join this Windows server 2008 R2 foundation host into domain and prompt it as a domain controller of exist active directory system?
Thanks.
Tiger Li
