Diff firewall settings depending on location -- doable?
Hi All:
I am facing a situation which I believe is quite common in a corporate environment.
For computer insideour corp network we use group policy to disable Windows Firewall as it's allmanagedthrough a central corp level firewall. But for those laptop users who also travel outside often this thus create a security riskas the firewall is off regardless of where they are.
Is there a way/solution to have different firewall settings (i.e. can automatically set to "on" or "off") depending on where you are?
Cheers,
Stephen

You can do this with Windows XP SP2 or later
You need to do this via Group Policies.
There are 2 Profiles
- Domain Profile : When you are connected to your corporate LAN
- Standard Profile : Not in LAN
