Destination Host Unreachable/Communication issues
I am having an issue with unreliable pinging. Normally that wouldnt mean too much, but I need to build a new primary DC to replace the old 2003 one, and seeing as its a Domain Controller, network communication is kinda important. I cannot ping my soon to be old DC from the new server (all i get is "destination host unreachable") and I also cannot ping my own computer from the server, but I can ping the server from my computer. What really gets me is that every now and again, for a brief moment, I will be able to ping successfully, and then it will stop again. Also if I ping the new server from the old 2003 I one, I will then (for a time) be able to ping the old from the new. Hi Divus, The first thing i would recommend is to update your NIC drivers to the latest available one. Also also check the network card.Regards, Rafic If you found this post helpful, please give it a "Helpful" vote. If it answered your question, remember to mark it as an "Answer". Hi, Apologies for my slow reply (forgot to turn on notifications). I have NetXtreme 2's and have update the cards from the Manufacturers website, but i still get the same issue. I have tried using different cards (even a totally different server) but to no avail.
