Desktop will not boot Vista. Status:0xc000000f report; Kernel missing or damaged
My sons desktop came with MS Vista preinstalled as OEM, without a reboot CD, or any other software for that matter. After he allowed a Win Explorer 8 automatic update on his desktop, he received the above captioned title message on next restart. On my laptop with Win 7 Ultimate plus Win Office 2007 SBE, I downloaded onto CD from Dr Windows, "vista_recover_x86_.iso" and "vista_recovery_disc_.iso.torrent". Tried to reboot his computer with each of these without success. Continue to receive the 'black screen' message that the Kernel file is missing or corrupted. Can anybody advise how I overcome the problem. Thanks, Glynn Symes

Hi Glynn Symes,You can use your windows 7 to create the system repair disk.To create a system repair discOpen Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore. In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. You can also post @ http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7 @ http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windowsvistaThey'll be able to better assist you there.
