Demote and then repromote windows 2008 R2 server

I have a fairly windows 2008R2 physical server, at one point it was in a sub office running as a DC for that office It was one of many DC's in our domain which is spread across multiple offices. We closed the office recently so I demoted it back to being a member server before hand. It has not been used since.

As the server it fairly new I was looking to redeploy it to another sub office to replace an old server, My question is - Is it ok to just rename the server  / Change the IP address and repromote it back to a DC or should I reinstall windows on it first before doing this?

Hi

You don't need to reinstall OS,just change the hosname and configure ip adrress, then promote this server as an Additional DOmain Controller.(if you were demote this server with dcpromo and removed AD DS,DNS,etc roles on it.)
