Deleting public folders on a network
I have some one here at work who accidentally deleted a folder on our server which contained some information she still needed. She is a user who just has access to her own folder on the server where she can add/delete files/folders as she pleases. My question is... where do folders that are deleted by users go? I tested this myself... I deleted a folder when connecting over the network and the folder is just gone. When I connect as the administrator to the server itself and delete a folder it goes to the recycling bin... I just don't know what happens when you delete it when your just using the network folder access way. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks,

You will have to either restore the folder from a backup, or use a data recovery tool. The recycling bin stores files in a hidden folder located on your system drive. It should be C:\Recycler. Then it breaks the folders into the user's SID. The recycling bin is not used for shared folder access. This link gives more information.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/136517
