Deleted snapshot
I had to delete my snapshot to be able to expand one of the drives. After expanding I cannot start the system anymore. I still got the original VHDs and an an XML file in the Virtual Machines folder but that's all I got left in that folder. Is there a way to rebuild the system based on the VHDs an

How did you delete your snapshot?  Did you do it through Hyper-V or did you just go to Explorer and delete the AVHD file?

I happened to have similar issue - using the above solution fixed the issue.

Deleted thrugh Hyper-V. Also before anyone asks shadow copoies are disabled on that box.

Hi yaro,

Are you delete your vm in Hyper-V manager before you merge the snapshot? That is the unsupport operation, we must merge snapshot before expanding the VHD, your issue must occur because the snapshot chain was corrupted, now the workaround is first backup all the current vm files, merge the snapshot manually, you can refer the following article to merge it.
