Defragging Raid 5
I've read several different ideas on this topic. Should I defrag my RAID 5 on my 2003 Server? If yes, what is the best way to accomplish this task? Use the standard defrag tools that came with the Server software or another tool? Any other ideas on this topic? Thanks, Ted

It truely depends what you are using on those drives I meean is that a File server ?I beleive Running chkdsk will be better option before defragmentation. There is a built in command line called defrag in windows 2003 whcih you can use it safely but I advice you to take the backup before performing the defrag.Thansk
