Default crawled property for email address in SharePoint 2013

Hi Team,

We want the email address of the user for our requirement. What is the crawled / managed property which holds the email address of the user in SharePoint 2013?

Please help us on this.

Thanks,

Manjeera

That would be WorkEmail. Here is a handy reference that is still applicable to 2013: Default user profile properties (SharePoint Server 2010)

Hi Darrell,

We tried to use WorkEmail managed property. But it is always null.

Thanks,

Hi Manjeera,

According to your description, my understanding is that the search result is null when searching the WorkEmail managed property in SharePoint 2013.

As we all know, the WorkEmail managed property is mapped with the crawl property People:WorkEmail and then we can search user email address with the managed property.

I recommend to check the things below:

  1. Check if the crawl property People:WorkEmail is listed in the mappings of the WorkEmail managed property.

Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service applications > Search Service Application > Search Schema > find WorkEmail under Managed Properties.

  2. Check if the WorkEmail in the user profile for the users are not filled with value. If yes, add value to WorkEmail in the User Profile Service Application for the users and then do a full crawl in Search Service Application to see if the issue still occurs.

Best regards.

Thanks
