Default Website & Sitebindings & Ports
I need to host multiple websites on a none multi-homed server. One website needs to be on port 443 and one on 444. However, being new to this I don't quite get the relationship between default websites, ports, and sitebindings. I have the following probably incorrect understanding: * Sitebindings assign certain ports and domain names to a particular website * The default HTTP website is the one that has a sitebinding to port 80 * The default HTTPS website is the one that has a sitebinding to port 443 However, when I go to IIS I see multiple websites with bindings to the same port. For instance one Site has bindings to :80(http),*:443(https) while another also has "Sites on *:80 (Http), *:443(https)". So * How do I determine which one is the default website? * Can the default website be on other ports than 80/443 and if so how? * How can a change the default website, i.e. I want my current default website not to be the default anymore? Any link to a good tutorial explaining all these things will also be appreciated.

Well, I wanted to post this on a Microsoft hosted forum rather than some other forum and this one seemed the most appropriate.
