DNS vs WINS
When I am using a DNS server in my Active Directory infrastructure, what is the benefit by using a WINS infrastructure?

When all you client computers are integrated in your domain, the DNS service will be enough to use because it will ensure the DNS and NetBIOS resolution.
If you've got some client computers that are not members of your domain, the DNS service will not be able to resolve their NetBIOS name. It is for that the use of a WINS infrastructrure can be benefical in this case.
My recommandation is to integrate all your client computers in you domain and to ensure a good maintenaince of your DNS infrastructure and you will not have DNS or NetBIOS resolution problems.
