DNS server role
Hi I dont really know this is a stupid question but if it is please dont be hatin I just needed to know. I would like to know if it is possible to run a server 2008 DNS server without installing Active Directory If possible can anyone explain the procedure?

Yes you can run it without installing Active Directory. If your DNS server is not a DC, you can not integrate the DNS service in AD.
