DNS comprehension
Hi,
I am complicated with the domain that host the world wide site and the domain that we name our Active directory Domain?
Do we need to buy the main for our Active direcotory domain?

Hi,
As active directory domain is used in an internal organization only, so you don't have to pay for the doman name. If you are using a external domain
names such as a website name, you need to pay for the domain name registration.

to avoid extra configuration needed, you usually take 2 seperate names to distinguish internal and external domain. like "company.local" for your active directory doamin name verus "company.yourtopleveldomain" for the www (that one you would have to register/pay)
if both names are the same, you would have to do extra configuring for oyur dns (split-brain / split-horizon dns)
