DNS Stops working
Hello,I Have a Server with Windows 2008 standard edition SP1 installed. The server works well, it shares internet with all the computers in the network with ICS.Everytime after about 3 days all the computers can't go on the internet anymore, but on the server still works. The only way to resolve the problem is to restart the dns service. If I Use routing and remote acces it works to share my internet connection but after a few days I have always a blue screen crash. The internet on the client computers isn't very fast and the users have often when they open a page, page can not be displayed becouse no internet connection and when you refresh the page opens.Does anyone have some experience with this problem?Kind regardsRuben

I'm having this problem as well and have just responded to the thread titled "W2K8 DNS Recursive Queries Fail Periodically"Are you running 32 or 64 bit?Starting to sound like a bug in Windows Server 2008.

Hi, I never recommend to use ICS in windows server 2008. It's means you are exposing your servers and computers in the Intenet. ICS is not the recommended solution for Intenet sharing in the organzation. If possible use Microsoft Forefront TMG 2010 or any third party UTM devices . If there is limitation of budget, at last use broadband routers for Internet sharing... For the Forefront TMG 2010, check my blog http://www.msserverpro.com
