DNS Scavenging: It's complicated
Two sites. DC1 and DC2. Scavenging turned off on both sites last Tuesday. DC2 updates DNS records, records are overwritten by DC1 on next replication. New records, however, are transferred properly between sites. This led to timestamps being mismatched between DCs. As such, I turned on scavenging again yesterday on DC1 ONLY. My thought is DC1 will be cleaned up, and DC2 will refresh and the new settings will then be in sync. My quesiton is, will this scavenge all of my previously created records, or only new machines that come into the domain? Thanks for your help.
