DNS Reverse Lookup zone issues
My Setup:
Windows 2003 AD domain AD intergrated DNS DHCP running on multiple DCs, I have multiple subnets. All scopes are setup to allow DNS dynamic updates always update A and ptr records.
I am having an issue where one of my reverse lookup zones is not being populated with any records it is just one particular subnet not showing any ptr records. I have run all the Windows utils to try and diagnose any problems such as DCDiag, netdiag and
so forth I have found nothing wrong. Looking for any other suggestions on things I could do to try and find out why this one reverse lookup zone is not registering any records?
Has anyone seen something like this before if so any ideas on what steps I could do to try and resolve? If you need anymore information let me know.
Thanks
Bill

You said that your DHCP scopes are configured to update the PTR records, but is the problematic DNS reverse lookup zone configured to allow dynamic updates?

Yes the reverse lookup zones are configured to allow secure only dynamic updates.

Checked for any errrors in the event logs? Particularly the DNS and DHCP logs?
Of course the basics would apply here as well. Check that all of the zone settings match those that are working. Restart the DHCP service. Reload the DNS zones. Etc.
