DNS Host name not resloving in windows 2003 server
Hello - I am trying to run nslookup to a LAN domain. The address resolves to its destination, but I get the message "can't find server name for address (ip address of server) default servers are not available". So I guess to resolve this I need to give the server a name - how can I do this? Thanks for you time.

Sounds like you don’t have reverse lookup zone on the DNS server. Do you have proper DNS configuration on this server? Do you have a reverse lookup zone on the DNS server? Anyway, look at the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/172060/en-us Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX Blogs - http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ Articles - http://www.sivarajan.com/publications.html Twitter: @santhosh_sivara - http://twitter.com/santhosh_sivara This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties, and confers no rights.
