DNS HOST(A) error in SBS2008
Possibly a simple question.
The Small Business Server 2008 Best Practices Analyser shows the following error:
"DNS - A resource record points to incorrect IP Address. The host (A) resource record points to the incorrect IP address 10.10.10.25410.10.10.30. The record should point to 10.10.10.254"
I've gone through every entry I can find in the DNS Manager and I cna't find any record pointing to this (obvikously doubled-up) IP address. Is there any way of finding which host entry has the problem so I can fix it?
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil,
Thanks for posting here.
Could you verify the NIC’s DNS settings on this server ? please post “ipconfig /all” result here.
You can return all A host record that been set IP address 10.10.10.30 by using nslookup utility :
For example:
C:\>nslookup
> server localhost
> set type=A
>10.10.10.30
After that you could correct address setting for these records.
Thanks.

This is a bug in BPA with VPN. It happens when you run BPA while logged in remotely. M$ hasn't bothered to fix it for over a year now.
