DNS Debugging Logs

we have set up DNS Debugging log on our DNS servers but once they reach their max size they stop logging. I have gone into DNS, right clicked the dns servers and gone to properties and then debug logging tab but I cannot see any option to overwrite existing date, can this even be done or is it just a matter of watching the log file and then creating a new log once it has reached it limit?

We are 2012 Domian and all our DNS server are 2012.

Hi ID-ten-T,

We could try to configure in event viewer:

  1. Type eventvwr.msc at an elevated command prompt and press ENTER to open Event Viewer.
  2. In Event Viewer, navigate to Applications and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\DNS-Server.Right-click DNS-Server, point to View, and then click Show Analytic and Debug Logs. The Analytical log will be displayed.
  3. Right-click Analytical and then click Properties.
  4. Then we could choose the overwriting settings.

Best Regards,

Leo
