DLC port in Win2k3
Requires your urgent and sincere help in resolving the following issue( whatever possible level) MS Window 2003 doesn't have DLC protocol which we use to connect with Main Frame Server ( Equation core banking server in our case). We currently use Net soft router in win2K to communicate with the server. How can we address this effectively in WIn2003 upgrade? Thanks in advance!!!

If you are upgrading to 2003, then this might be the solution, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=f5a88f75-4e05-4fba-bf13-2cd53d023786&displaylang=en If you are upgrading to 2008, then you will have a little bit more work to do to implement Host Integration Server, http://blogs.msdn.com/b/johnbreakwell/archive/2009/02/05/will-there-be-a-64-bit-version-of-the-dlc-protocol-included-in-host-integration-server.aspx Does the banking mainframe support IP-DLC? -- Mike Burr

Hello, What product were you using to connect to the Mainframe using NetSoft router to connect DLC? Are you interested in evaluating Host Integration Server 2009 as a solution to your DLC connection issue or are you seeking an IP-DLC solution? As Mike noted, Host Integration Server 2009 does include the DLC protocol (32-bit) to connect to Mainframe host. This is the latest version that provides the DLC protocol (32-bit). You may download Host Integration Server 2009 from the below link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=E4A40127-D73C-4D41-B8B4-FBBE68EEC47E&displaylang=en If Enterprise Extender is setup currently on your mainframe then you have the option to configure Host Integration Server 2009/2010 for an IP-DLC connection to the host. Thanks, Belinda
