DHCPv6: Modify DUID type of Windows Client
Hello There,
Is there a way to modify the DUID
type the Windows client?
The default value is DUID-LLT
and we would like to change
this to DUID-LL(type 3)
or DUID-UUID (type 4).
Sincerely yours

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to change the DUID type.
In general, DUID = DUID type(4 digit) + hardware type + DUID generate data and time + MAC address.
The DUID type is a default setting by system. You may try to edit the DUID by editing registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\TCPIP6\Parameters\Dhcpv6DUID
DUID type value:
0001 DUID-TTL
0002 DUID-EN
0003 DUID-LL
Remember to back up the registry before any changing.
Best Regards,
Eve Wang
