DHCP does not update DNS for few clients

I have enabled DHCP (also DNS/AD) server (2008 R2) to perform DNS updates on behalf of clients.

It work well for most of the clients but two of our clients it is not updating.

When do ipconfig /renew on PC on dhcpsrvlog I see entry "11,07/30/15,15:58:51,Renew,IPaddress,PCNAME.domain.local,3085A99473ED,,1363416604,0,,,"

But after this entry I normally see next entry for DNS update but for this PC nothing happens event after 6 hours.

Not sure when it is not working for few PC's because all are win7 PC with same image on them.

Any suggestions will be helpful.

Hi Ni0,

We could typeipconfig /registerdns on client to test.

The default DHCP configuration is that clients register their A records and the DHCP Server registers the PTR records. We could configure DHCP to register both records to test.

On DHCP server, right click on IPv4 and select the following:

After that, type ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew on client. Then check the result.

Best Regards,

Leo
