DHCP Scopes issue
Hi I am having the scenario in which I am having two DC’s and in that two DC’s there are four DHCP scopes are configured. Server A Scope1 –( 192.168.0.20 – 192.168.0.70) Scope2 –(192.168.0.139- 192.168.0.190) Server B Scope3-(192.168.0.71- 192.168.0.126) Scope4-(192.168.0.191- 192.168.0.254) Now my question /issue is whenever there is any change in the IP address that whole load is taken care by only 3 scopes from (20-70; 71-126; 139-190) and all these are scopes are getting full but the last scope (191-254) is only having few IP and seems to be is not taken the load from others, is there is any way that the last scope is also take half of the load from other scopes?? The lease duration for DHCP clients is set to 4 days only.

Hi,Thanks for the post. Now I would like to confirm the following questions:1. Are the two DHCP servers in the same subnet?2. If so, could you tell me why you need to divide the addresses into four scopes in the same subnet? For balancing DHCP server usage, in general, we use the 80/20 rule to divide scope addresses between DHCP servers. For more about 80/20 Rule, please check the following link:80/20 Rulehttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc958936.aspx Hope this helps.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, Yes both of the DHCP servers are on the same subnet.Like earlier we were having the two different subnets but after RE-IP the entire Org we created the same 4 DHCP scope on one subnet. So is this the issue ??? ThanksAmit
