DHCP Scope split between devices

Hello All, First of all thank you in advance.

I have new DHCP server at school migrated from 2008 R2 to 2012 R2. I  have following scopes

10.168.10.x -reserved for Servers, switches, AP's , etc.

I want following scope IP addressee's to be distributed separately based on device type ,

10.168.8.x I want this IP's to be  distributed to LAN computers , windows (joined to domain only)

10.168.9.x I want this IP's to be distributed to Apple IPADS , MACs (not on domain)

I have tried some NAP, NPS articles on online but they didn't worked . then i try to do the Policy on DHCP server it self but it require all IPADS MAC addresse's which is likely 500 nos devices .

Please advice me how to achieve this .

thank you again

Hi

 You could configure Scope level link layer filtering for each scopes;

Please check the details on this article(also this use on 2012)

Hi GR,

As Burak mentioned, DHCP polices could achieve the goal.

If the devices are on different subnets, we could use DHCP relay agent to achieve the goal.

For example, DHCP server is on subnet 10.168.8.x. And the clients(LAN computers, windows) would get IP addresses from the scope 10.168.8.x. Then, on subnet 10.168.9.x, we could create a DHCP relay agent. Then the clients(Apple IPADS, Macs) would get IP addresses from the scope 10.168.9.x.

Best Regards,

Leo
