Hi All - This setup is a home lab where, I want to test and learn stuff on DHCP
One Domain Controller - Server 2012 R2 (running DNS and DHCP)
Current DHCP Scope - 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254
Mask - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.0.1 (this is my ISP provided Router)
What, I would like is to create the following:
Another DHCP Scope with 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254
Another DHCP Scope with 192.168.2.0 - 192.168.2.254
Mask - 255.255.255.0
The Gateway for above scopes (192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x) will be 192.168.0.1 (as, I have only one Router in the lab)
Will above configuration work within my lab after, I create a super scope and combine all the scopes (192.168.0.x, 192.168.1.x, 192.168.2.x) so that any computer in the lab network should be ip address from any of the above scopes. Let me know.
I am new to DHCP - Hence trying to understand the concept well before venturing out with DNS and other stuff in Networking.
Thanks
RL
