I wa looking for a way to migrate my Windows Server 2003 DHCP server information to my newly built Windows Server 2008 Server. In the past, I have used netsh dhcp server import and export to backup and restore my configuration. Looking on Windows Server 2008, MS has removed the netsh dhcp import utility. Any idea on how to migrate the settings from Windows Server 2003 -> Windows Server 2008. --Tracy

hi all, ok from your intsruction , i know now how to export the DHCP server configurations from the Windows Server 2003 DHCP Server, but about importing these configurations into Windows Server 2008 ! should i install the DHCP role first on the windows server 2008 ?? during the installation it asks you for the scope, ipv4 settings, ipv6 settings, should i populate all these settings ?? then what is the point of the migration ?? or is there a way to install the dhcp server on windows server 2008 without setting these settings, and simply then import the exported configurations ?
