DHCP MMC - A way to search?
I need a simple way of searching our DHCP server for a specific MAC address. Any thoughts?

Not by using the DHCP MMC console. A custom solution would be in order. Maybe a login script that captures this information and writes back to a database table. Or, if you enable the DHCP logs, you can have a program open the logs and perform a search..., or a 3rd party application that integrates with DHCP. Guides and tutorials, visit ITGeared.com.

Okay. A 3rd party application sounds most promissing. Any ideas about a "proper" admin tool for MS DHCP on W2k8 R2?

Hi MHaahr, Thanks for posting here. Extending DHCP server management console by customizing plug-in program with DHCP API will help us to achieve the goal. A sample could be acquired form the link below: http://blogs.technet.com/b/teamdhcp/archive/2007/10/26/finding-client-info-based-on-mac-address.aspx Better to post to MSDN forum in order to get the most professional responses. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/categories Thanks.
