DHCP Client does not start
Hello All,
I`m having trouble trying to start DHCP client in a Windows Server 2003 SP2.
This below is the message I get in event viewer;
Event Type: ErrorEvent Source: Service Control ManagerEvent Category: NoneEvent ID: 7023Date:DateTime:TimeUser: N/AComputer:ServerNameDescription: The DHCP Client service terminated with the following error: Access is denied.
Steps I tried;
-http://support.microsoft.com/kb/895149
- Windows Updated
Any suggestions?

Hi Thiago Did you read the Complete post of solutions . I think you have read subject line only. Once Again Please review the URL .And also Please verify the Network Service get added to the following registry keysproperly. HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dhcp\Parameters HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters The permissions on those should be Full Control for the Network Service Thanks...

Hi Perira, i would like know what got changed and this service stopped ? have you installed a) driver updates b) windows security patchesc) 3rd party softwares ? d) please run a complete AV scan on the system and check the behavior also i would like you to run start --> msconfig and disable all the 3rd party applicaitons, restart ( if possible ) and then try to restart the service. Its worth checking the permissions as Deva pointed for the registry keys. sainath
