DHCP Changing IP but not name

We are performing a virtual-to-virtual move of our DHCP server to move off an old host to a new one. After the move I will be changing the IP address of the server to the new subnet but the server name will stay the same. I'm running Windows
Server 2003 Standard SP2 on this server.
Q: Do I need to deauthorize DHCP on the server, perform the V2V, Re-IP, and then reauthorize or will the DHCP pick-up the hostname properly after I re-ip?

Thanks,

Hello,

Not sure how is your network environment. But I would unauthorize the DHCP server first before moving it to the new host and change the IP.

Thanks
