DHCP Authentication
Dear all, I just want to know what is DHCP authentication,how it is authenticate,minimum requirement for DHCP configration,maximum number of Clients it will support,and which protocol work behind this service,pls give me technical defination fro the same.. thanks

Hi,Thanks for the post.DHCP Authentication describes an enhancement that replaces the normal DHCP messages with authenticated ones. Clients and servers check the authentication information and reject messages that come from invalid sources. The technology involves the use of a new DHCP option type, the Authentication option, and operating changes to several of the leasing processes to use this option.For more information about DHCP Authentication, please take a look at the following document:http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3118.txt Hope this helps.
