DC not able to replicate
I have two DC (DC1 and DC2). DC1 = Windows Server 2003 R2 DC2= Windows Server 2003 R2 64-bit DC1 is able to replicate to DC2 but DC2 is not able to replicate back to DC1. When I go to DC2 and try to do a manual replicate to DC1 from AD Sites and Services I get the error "the following error occurred during the attempt to contact the domain controller: The RPC server is unavailable". When I check eventviewer on DC2 I see an error for NETLOGON (even id: 5719) the description: This computer was not able to set up a secure session with a domain controller in domain ATI due to the following: There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. This may lead to authentication problems. Make sure that this computer is connected to the network. If the problem persists, please contact your domain administrator.

Hello, please upload the following files, so we can get an overview: ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt [from each DC/DNS Server] dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:dcname >c:\dcdiag.txt repadmin /showrepl dc* /verbose /all /intersite >c:\repl.txt ["dc* is a place holder for the starting name of the DCs if they all begin the same (if more then one DC exists)] dnslint /ad /s "DCipaddress" (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321045) As the output will become large, DON'T post them into the thread, please use Windows Sky Drive (skydrive.live.com) [with open access!] and add the link from it here. Also the /e in dcdiag scans the complete forest, so better run it on COB.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Can you elaborate when you say "better run it on COB"???? Also, does it matter which DC i'm running these commands from? Run them on all possible DCs that you have and post the output here. Hello, "Can you elaborate when you say "better run it on COB"????" /e in the command means that all DCs in the forest are queried, which can result in high performance on DCs so Close of Business is the better time as less users are there. As all DCs are queried it doesn't matter if the domain/DCs are healthy but if access/connectivity problems occur multiple outputs can help.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hello, atifile is multi-homed, please use only one ip address on the NIC and remove the 10.87.x.x complete, then run ipconfig /flushdns and ipconfig /registerdns and restart the netlogon service on the DC. Make sure both DC/DNS are registered with the A and Nameserver record in the DNS forward/reverse lookup zones. Any firewall between the DCs? Running Exchange on DCs is not recommended, here are some details: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997407(EXCHG.80).aspx http://msmvps.com/blogs/acefekay/archive/2009/08/08/moving-from-exchange-2000-currently-on-a-windows-2000-domain-controller-to-a-new-exchange-2003-server-on-a-windows-2003-member-server.aspxBest regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
