DCOM permission mistake
I have the following scenario that I stupidlyperformed:There are two DCOM entries that recent HP drivers (even just using the plain INF file) install for the more recent HP print drivers. They have a known problem that HP has not been resolving for people fully, the symptom of which is printing being slow, sometimes not coming out at all, server slowdowns.A part of the neccessary solution is to cut off some of their permissions in DCOM, so the problem pieces won't be able to cause this issue. Normally, I cut them off enough just fine.Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking about what I was doing yesterday, and selected the Everyone, clicking "deny" for all the abilities, for:- Launch and Activation Permissions- Access PermissionsI really hope there is a way to fix this, the server it's on needs to go into production in a few days. I've seen a bunch of different stuff that can be done about settings in the registry, but nothing catering to quite this. These changes have made those entries disappear from the DCOM Config list, so I don't know how to get to the permissions to change them. The server isWindows 2003 SP2. I'm assuming there are more details I need to provide, just let me know... Chris

Hello, I am a little confused about this. Do you mean that you want to recover the proper permissions for Everyone account? Would you please let me know the detailed steps how you mistakenly denied the permissions? If you are using the Component Services console and doing this by changing the COM Security settings of the "My Computer" Properties (clicking the Edit Limits and setting Deny permissions to the Everyone account). You should be able to reset the permissions on this COM Security tab. Best regards,Chang Yin
