Hello,
for Windows Server 2008 R2, you will not have to install an admin pack.
If you are using Windows Server 2003 then re-install adminpack from the install media.
If this does not help then please run sfc /scannow and if the problem persists then perform a repair install for your OS.

Hello,
it sounds for me that you are using Windows server 2008 R2 and run the dcdiag from Windows server 2003?
If this is the case, do not use the old version on the new one.
Make sure to use the built-in version from dcdiag on the Windows server 2008 R2, therefore install the "Active directory domain services" with the Add/remove role in the server manager, this will NOT make the server domain controller.
Also the support tools from Windows server 2003 are NOT supported on the new OS versions. Additional lot of this tools are already included.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

I´m trying to run some diagnostic test witht dcdiag but get get this error in event log:
Faulting application dciag.exe, version 5.2.3790.1830.
Here are some information from Marks blog on this problem:
Having narrowed down the problem, look at the diagnostic evidence. At first , the errors in the event log didn’t seem to tell me much. Or did they? What about the version number of the faulting application?
Does it match the version of the installed operating system. In my case the application log had an error message where the description read (in part): "Faulting application dcdiag.exe, version 5.2.3790.1830, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.3959,
fault address 0x0002caa2". So, ntdll.dll is the service pack 2 version (3959) and dcdiag.exe is at service pack 1 (1830) – i.e. not at the same service pack revision. If the event logs don’t give this much information, try looking at
file version information in the file properties. Is an alternative version available? Google (or Windows Live Search, Yahoo!, Ask, etc.) is your friend. After downloading and installing the service pack 2 version of the Window Server 2003 Support Tools,
dcdiag.exe stopped crashing. Problem solved.
Maybe because I´m from sweden but is there any Window Server 2003 Support Tool for Windows Server 2008 R2 that solve the same problem?
Links?
