Customizing the search results page in sharepoint 2013

Guys,

when the user enter a keyword in the search box i want to show the results in a custom search results page which  would show 3 columns only. in SP2007 i would do that using search page layout and xslt, can anyone shed some light on how this can be done in sp2013 since i dont see the search results page layout. (btw i am talking about customizing the search results page itself and not trying to add an item display template which is a new feature of 2013)

thanks

Hello MM,

With SharePoint 2013 to customize Search results page you will need to use display templates.

Here is Blog Post talking about result types and display templates.

Here is msdn article providing information regarding display templates.

Following is TechNet Article which has information on Display template reference.

Hi Jack,

Those are great links that explain what is what but is there a document that walks you through (step by step process) an actual results page customization.

I have a large list and want to be able to customize the search results from that list. The list was imported from Access 2013.

I have read those articles and still dont know what the actual process is for achieving my goal.

thanks,

Luis

Hi Luis,

I agree... I've read these links as well... while all touch on some individual piece of the problem... none help pull it all together on how you get the search page itself built.  If anyone has a specific search page example that would be great.

Thanks
