Custom rollup formula versus Scope statement block

Hi all,

I have a parent child dimension with Level 0 and level 1 hierarchy. Each parent has predetermined goal if dimension

member is [Owner].[Owner].&[Y]. I need to evenly distribute the goal to each child.

When should one use custom roll up formula using unary operator versus Scope statement? Can somebody give me a pointer?

In other words, I have never used Custom roll up formulas. So I'm bit confused when to use it versus Scopes.?

Geda

Hi Geda,

According to your description, you want to use custom roll up formula in your project, the problem is that you haven't use it before, and don't know how to use it, right?

Custom rollup formulas and custom member formulas are expressions, written in Multidimensional Expressions (MDX), that determine the cube cell values associated with members. A custom rollup formula applies to all the members (except calculated members) in a level. Please refer to the link below to see the details.
