Crypt32 on Windows Server 2003 - failed auto-update of third-party root certificate list - event ID 8
I'm getting this consistantly on my new DC. I can confirm: 1. No internet connectivity issues; I can browse to the page 2. Proxy has been configured to "no proxy" (all as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317541) I usually get "the network connection does not exist" but occasionally get an HTTP 407. I've tried disabling AV during the download, but nothing.

Hi, To better understand the issue, please help confirm the following: 1. Is ISA server or other proxy device being used in this environment? It would be helpful if you can provide more information about the network environment. 2. Do you mean that you get the error message "the network connection does not exist" when you type the link http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootseq.txt on the IE browser to access the file on the server? 3. Do other computers in this environment encounter this issue? Can they access the link? I look forward to your response.
