Creating login scripts with Windows Server 2003
Hi - I am currently running Windows 2003 Server and XP/W7 desktops and laptops. I would like to create a login script for a generic user. The login script will only add IE to the startup, so when the user "temp" logins in, the IE will start automatically. Can this be done and if so, how? Or if a Group Policy would be better? Thanks, Peggy

Hi Peggy, To add IE to the startup, you need to add the IE shortcut the startup folder in user profile. Windows XP C:\Documents and Settings\The User Name\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Windows 7 C:\Users\The User Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup To create a script to do this, as Meinolf has suggested, please ask in The Official Scripting Guys Forum and provide the above information. After that, assign this script as a logon script to the "temp" user in ADUC. Assign a logon script to a user in the Active Directory http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc779490(v=ws.10).aspx Hope this helps. Regards, Bruce
