Creating/Renaming a directory on Windows 2008 File Share Hangs
Does anyone have the problem when they connect to a UNC share on a Windows 2008 server and when they create/rename adirectory or file it hangs their explorer windows for 1 or 2 minutes. Then eventually it works. So far it seems to happen when connecting from a Vista client, or another Windows 2008 share, and no matter which 2008 server box I try I get the same result. If anyone has a solution it would be appreciated. FYI: Firewall is disabled. Thanks, Eric

Hi, May I know if your Windows Vista edition is SP1(Service Pack 1)? If not, please update Windows Vista with SP1 to test the result. The 'slow network file copy' problem has fixed in Vista SP1. Besides, it makes your PC more reliable, run more smoothly, and even more enjoyable to use, and. You can download Windows Vista Service Pack 1 form: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B0C7136D-5EBB-413B-89C9-CB3D06D12674&displaylang=en For more information about improvements on Windows Vista SP1, please refer to the following article: Notable Changes in Windows Vista Service Pack 1 http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/library/005f921e-f706-401e-abb5-eec42ea0a03e1033.mspx?mfr=true I hope this helps. If this issue still persists, please post back. Best wishes -------------- Morgan
