Create Sub domain

Hello Guys,

I have a question if I'm doing it the correct way... Please read my configuration en tell me what you think.

I now have a costumer with some small firms and 1 big firm. The big firm has a DC & exchange. I want to create a extra DC so i can put all the computers from 1 of the small firms in that domain. i will also make this domain a sub of the big firm DC.

Then i want to configure the exchange it does e-mail for both domains.

I am very curios about your comments.

In that case both are having different forest & different domain name?

You can create the separate domain and then you can create trust between this two in case company are planning  to access resource between this two forest.

Well the big one has a Forest and the small one does not have a DC/Forest jet. But if i create a trust is it possible to use 1 Exchange server for both forests?

I have no idea on Exchange server. But for access resource you can do that after establishing the Two way forest trust.

Exchange can run in 2 forest as far as the mailboxes are shared. Constant data transfer to be made between these 2 forests. If the 2 forests are kinda linked with each other and if the mailbox of forest A is allowed to be stored in Forest B . Then yes, we can go for a Exchange Resource Forest.

But, if cross relm functionality is not allowed. It is wise to create a new forest and installing exchange server for the forest.

Every thing depends on the Requirement (Is data transfer allowed between the Big Company and Small Company)

It will be a full 2 way trust. So it will allow transfer. Is that good?

Hi Vincent Bal,

You could try this link Planning to Deploy Exchange in a Multiple Forest Environment:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124677(EXCHG.65).aspx

And for more support about deploying exchange server in two forests, you could also post in exchange server.
