Corrupt Administrator Profile Server 2008 R2
All of a sudden when I try to log on with administrator, I get: Windows cannot load the user's profile but has logged you on with the default profile for the system. Event ID 1505. I restarted and I was able to log in once as normal. The next time I logged in, I received the same error. When I check the SSID for Administrator, there is one, and it ends in .bak. When I try to rename it, I cannot : The Registry editor cannot rename XXXXXXXXX-500.bak Error while renaming key. I also tried to launch "Change UAC Settings" so I could turn off UAC. Nothing happens when I try to launch it. Thanks

Hello, To delete the subkey that is named #####.bak, you should log on to the system using another account that has the administrator rights. Otherwise, you are not allowed to modify the Registry or turn off UAC. However, if you do not have another administrator account, try boot from the Windows DVD and use command prompt to delete the key. reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\##########.bak Note: quotation marks are required here because there is a SPACE between WINDOWS and NT Thanks ZHANG
